Revolutionizing Fuel Analysis for Pulp and Paper mills: Heat Management’s Newest Tech Acquisition

The Acospector takes a whole new approach on process optimization and fuel analysis. With various software packages the impossible has become possible with this technology that enables analysis that can help users to avoid unwanted process modes. Wave Impact Heat Management AB and The Packaging Greenhouse AB has in a joint venture strategically acquired the technology to expand their portfolio, to offer their respective customer bases optimized operations. What is the Acospector? The groundbreaking technology was developed by Acosense, renowned for their expertise in fuel analysis. Although the company is no longer in operation, Heat Management sees the immense value of the past flagship product of Acosense. The hardware is installed on the customers pipes where the fuel is passing through. With unprecedented non-disruption to the customers production cycle. The solution does not require any boiler shutdown to be installed and commissioned, it seamlessly integrates in the customers infrastructure. Through acoustic signals, measurements are collected that is later analysed within [...]

The Swedish Energy Agency recognizes the potential in Heat Management’s CleanTech Solutions

CleanTech for Pulp and Paper Mills with Financing From the Swedish Energy Agency Heat Management has been at the forefront of revolutionizing the development of fouling prevention in industrial boilers. CleanTech is our passion and to push our products and the value for customers beyond technical specification. By setting the standard for boiler performance with patented solutions, and not being content with how boiler cleaning has been done in the past we help the industry to reach a new level. This has now been recognized by the Swedish Energy Agency and an initiative to help pulp and paper mills invest in modern CleanTech solutions has been initiated. The need to optimize boiler cleaning operations  A recovery boiler has heat transfer surfaces inside that are exposed to ashes in the flue gas. It is desirable to keep the fouling rate as low as possible to be able to operate the boiler for as long time per year as possible. It [...]

Optimizing Power Boiler Performance Amid Volatile Energy Prices

In recent years, volatile energy prices have become the norm in Europe and across the globe, with a number of factors triggering what the EU is calling an unprecedented energy crisis. Gas prices increased more than 170% in 2021, and more than 150% between July 2021 and 2022. Factors contributing to increased energy prices include extreme climate conditions, higher gas consumption in Asia, greater scarcity of nuclear and hydropower electricity, and disruptions as a result of the war in Ukraine and Russia’s decision to cut gas supply to several EU countries. While higher demand and energy prices mean greater profitability for power plant operators, it also means more pressure on critical components such as the power boiler which, in turn, can lead to higher operating costs. By investing in solutions that increase the operational effectiveness of the power boiler and other infrastructure, power plant operators can cut down on costs while ensuring they keep up with performance demands.  The [...]

Incredible Results found at Zellstoff Pöls AG

Evaluation of environmental investment “HISS™” at Zellstoff Pöls AG In 2020, Zellstoff Pöls AG made the investment to commission a sootblowing solution that were to be installed on all 86 of their sootblowers. The system had its startup in the beginning of 2021 and the project evaluation has now been finalized and it revealed incredible results. The High Impact Sootblowing System ™ (HISS ™ ), developed by Heat Management has garnered wide popularity in the Swedish pulp and paper mill industry. The technology has become a market leader in Sweden. Cellulose Pöls AG are the first in Austria to implement the system in their mill, and they are beginning to reap the benefits. The potential with implementing HISS ™ is beyond technical specification but some potential benefits nearly include halving the time and steam used in the sootblowing process and prolonging equipment life. The goal with the installation of HISS ™ was to reduce sootblowing steam consumption by at least [...]

Three new HISS™ orders for pulp mills!

Half steam ahead!  Three pulp mill customers are tired of their sootblowing systems wasting half the steam and half the time. The mills come from two international P&P groups and decided recently to partner up with Heat Management, to take their chemical recovery process beyond technical specification. The innovative solution will be used to reach the mill sustainability targets, by reducing: Water consumption, m3/ADt Energy consumption, MWh/ADt Emissions, tCO2e/ADt   Heat Managements’ disruptive and market leading High impact Sootblowing System (HISS™) always come with absolute process guarantees for availability and energy savings. These measurable key performance indices facilitate return on investment calculation and the guarantees minimize project risk. The guaranteed sustainability benefits and subsequent significant financial savings lead to short payback time, with the risk being carried by Heat Management. Together, the three pulp mills will save a minimum of 100 GWh of steam, 130 000 m3 water and 6 000 tCO2e per year in their three black liquor recovery boilers. [...]
