Meet Vinicius Lobosco, our new Process Engineer

We have acquired yet another new colleague! We are happy to present another one of our newest members of the Heat Management family. Vinicius Lobosco has valuable knowledge and experience within the pulp and paper industry that we consider ourselves lucky to have acquired. Read our Q&A with him below! Welcome Vinicius Lobosco! Q: What is your previous experience in the industry and what are you most passionate about? Answer: It surprises even me to reflect on my journey, having dedicated my entire corporate life to the industry. From earning a PhD at STFI to ventures in start-ups like PaperPlat AB and Cortus, I've traversed diverse landscapes, working with giants like Klabin and Suzano and smaller ones like Heat Management right now. My roles have spanned consultancy, internal operations, and everything in between, covering a wide spectrum from pulp, paper, and board to lignin extraction. I've navigated both virgin fibers and recycled materials. What ties these experiences together is [...]

Achieve Sustainable Production Goals in the Pulp and Paper Industry with HISS

The Need for Sustainable Solutions in Pulp and Paper Production The pulp and paper industry, vital for providing essential products to society, is undergoing a transformation towards sustainability. As environmental concerns arise and regulatory pressures increase, companies in this sector seek innovative solutions to minimize their environmental footprint. A solution is the High Impact Sootblowing System (HISS™), changing how pulp and paper mills handle sootblowing. By harnessing the power of HISS™, companies are optimizing their production processes and making significant strides toward achieving their sustainability goals. HISS™ is Changing Sootblowing in Pulp and Paper Mills Traditional sootblowing is stuck in the same pattern as it always has been. Meaning, sootblowing in both the entry and exit stroke wastes nearly 50% of the steam since 90% of the cleaning effect is done at the entry stroke. HISS™, however, uses advanced automation and impactful cleaning methods to improve boiler performance, save energy, and reduce emissions. It cleans efficiently by sootblowing in [...]

Two more HISS orders from one of the largest pulp and paper conglomerates in the world.

One of the largest pulp and paper manufacturers in the world has decided to invest in Heat Management’s solutions. The manufacturer has previously ordered Infrasound cleaning to their mill in Belgium and has since recognized an efficient way to conduct their steam sootblowing operations in the Nordics. Traditional sootblowing Most recovery boilers are delivered with traditional control systems for their sootblowers. These systems are cheap to buy but very expensive to operate, racking up millions of EUR in wasted energy. Here, Heat Management disrupts the paradigm and combines patented system controls and innovative valve control solutions, to deliver the earlier impossible solution of Sootblowing more, with less steam. The High Impact Sootblowing System has become renowned for its way of allowing users to save a guaranteed amount of 30% sootblowing steam consumption, often even surpassing the guaranteed values. A Swedish pulp mill. In 2023, the order for installing HISSTM for a large mill in Sweden was received. The recovery [...]

Record Number of Orders in the year of 2023 for Infrasound Cleaning Systems

Heat Management’s Infrasound cleaners has been exceptionally popular historically in Sweden, which is its country of origin. The acoustic cleaner has satisfied its users for years, but in the last few years the demand outside of Sweden has grown exponentially. This has led to a record year for Heat Management, having a lot of Infrasound cleaners to install and commission all over the world, especially in Asia.   New exciting partnership in Southeast Asia Our sales manager in Thailand, Thierry Magne, has signed a partnership with Eco Plant Services (EPS) who has been providing our acoustic cleaning solution to the market. Heat Management has received multiple orders in Thailand with the help of our new partner. With the continued collaboration with EPS and Heat Management, anything is possible, which makes the market in Thailand look very promising. The end-users have been everything from cement plants, coal fired boilers to smoke tube boilers. Together we’re building success stories together with our [...]

Sustainable Steam: Jönköping Energi’s HISS Project and its Impressive Results

In 2023, the Swedish power plant Jönköping Energi initiated a project that enabled them to increase their boiler load with biofuel. The outcome of that project was a significant increase in heat and electricity production. This however significantly increased their need for sootblowing. Introduction The project that enabled the green transition to more sustainable fuels was finished in the year of 2022. Doing an analysis of that project, Jönköping Energi concluded that they had increased their heat generation by 23 GWh more heat that reduced the need for more expensive fuels and 4 GWh increased electricity production. After the project that enabled the forementioned load increase, Jönköping discovered that even though they had to be sootblowing more as a consequence of increasing their boiler load, there was an add-on solution to their sootblowers that could save them time and steam for each cycle. The High Impact Sootblowing System (HISSTM). Since 90% of the cleaning effect is done by the initial [...]
