The backpass of the boiler at Lugnviksverket (ECO+Catalyst+Air Preheater) is equipped with 18 steam soot blowers. Before installing the infrasound generator the soot blowers were operated 2 times per day at low load (<75% load) and 3-4 times per day at high boiler load.

The infrasound system was installed in order to increase the efficiency of the boiler, by saving soot blowing steam, and to reduce wear on the tube bundles and the catalyst elements. The staff had concluded the damage of the catalyst elements was related to operation of the steam soot blowers.

The infrasound generator from Infrafone was installed in the summer of 2014.
