At Ryaverket, Steam soot blowing was previously used three times per day in the economizers. The steam soot blowing results in wear of the tube bundles and consequently reduced life-time and increased costs as well as reduced boiler output due to the steam consumption during soot blowing.

In order to reduce the costs and the production loss, it was decided to install infrasound generators from Heat Management. The installation was done in 2011, above and on the soot pocket beneath the economizers.
