SCA Bollstabruk has two identical 12MWth grate boilers in operation year-round, with an exception of an annual revision stop when the heat demand can be met with one boiler. The boilers were not equipped with any automatic sootcleaning before the installation of Infrasound Cleaning.

To avoid plugging the tubes, the inlets were cleaned manually every two weeks. In addition, each boiler required an outage for manual cleaning every 6th week.

Infrasound Cleaning was installed to keep the boilers clean throughout the season and in turn reduce the need for manual cleaning.
