Meet Ferus Berhane, our new Purchasing Manager

The year is starting to wrap up, and holidays are coming up. Still, before that, we are excited to introduce a new addition to the Heat Management team: Ferus Berhane, our new Purchasing Manager.

In this Q&A, we ask Ferus about her new position here at Heat Management.

Welcome, Ferus!

Q: What does it mean to be a Purchasing Manager for Heat Management?
It’s a responsibility to close favourable purchases for the company and control the possibility of reducing acquisitions costs. The role means having excellent organizational skills, being structured, maintaining relationships, good communication skills, and being comfortable with constant change.

To work for Heat management means that to perform as a purchasing manager properly, you need to be thoroughly familiar with the companies’ strategies and align trading methods to achieve corporate goals. Knowing the goals of the company is necessary to make the best decisions.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your work? What motivates you?
I would say that the best part is that I get to learn a lot from my colleagues with extensive experience within this industry. It motivates me to tackle new challenges and tasks every day, but mainly, these positions demand problem-solving, which is stimulating.

Q: How come you applied for a position here at Heat Management?
It’s primarily because of the solutions Heat Management work with: efficiency, availability and lifetime of industrial boilers, etc. with that being said, I think that their solutions have and will have a significant impact on the environmental aspect. It’s a company with a green vision in today’s society, and it has so much potential. We are growing fast, and I am so excited to be a part of the journey!

Q: How does Heat Management drive innovation within this industry?
Mainly because Heat Management has developed technologies that make solutions for efficiency in Industrial boilers, the patented systems drive the innovation within this industry, and it’s pretty exciting to be a part of the technologies Heat Management has to offer!

Q: There’s a lot of focus on the environmental impact of today’s companies. Can you describe how Heat Management is handling these types of challenges and what the future brings for the technology you’re using?

How do you apply sustainable thinking in your role?

It’s an excellent question. I think people have realized how important it’s to meet the need of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. Firstly, Heat Management offer solutions that are green and sustainable for the environment since we improve energy efficiency. The core vision of the company revolves around sustainability and green thinking. The core component of the company is sustainability and green thinking. I always guide through the morals and visions the company has when making decisions. I also apply sustainable finance in my purchasing role.

Q: You’ve been here for a few weeks now and been introduced to the core of the company. What do you think so far?
I have been introduced to a lot of new stuff and learned a lot during these weeks. I really enjoy being here and have amazing colleagues that are always there and support you. It’s been quite challenging, but that’s what motivates me.

Q: What’s next? Any upcoming projects you’re excited about?
When I started working as a purchasing manager, I was introduced to an exciting project to install one of our solutions. The project is still going on and is very challenging. I am very grateful that I started with a challenging project because it has put me in the purchasing manager role. Right now, I’m just excited to continue to grow in my position.
